On August 30, at around 6:30 p.m., 22-year-old Tucker Smith of Tennessee entered the Subway on Carl D. Silver Parkway and demanded cash from the register, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.
Armed with a knife, Smith demanded money from a patron of the restaurant after an employee ignored Smith's requests and called 911, police said.
The patron gave Smith cash from their wallet and Smith fled the scene, authorities said.
The suspect was later arrested for felony charges of attempted robbery and robbery, police reported.
He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond, officials said.
